21:4

Hospitals.

White tiled floors and waiting rooms.

Wheelchairs.

IV drips.

Tumors.

Chemotherapy.

Surgery.

Radiation.

X-Rays.

Pain reliever.

Sedative.

Ambulances.

The ER.

Pain.

Weeping.

Suffering.

Loss.

Grief.

Black limousines.

Headstones.

Anxiety.

Loneliness.

Restlessness.

Darkness.

All of these things will be swallowed up in the coming of the Son.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

Which of us has not been near these things in one form or another? If we not have yet, we will.

Think about this list.

Every single one will no longer exist when God restores and redeems His creation. Death and sickness have been defeated, and will ultimately be removed.

That day is coming in full, and we know it because of the glory of God in His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Slain for our sins, to redeem humanity and God’s creation unto himself.

The House of Mourning will be no more.

Oh, on that day.

Come, Lord Jesus.

“…And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp nor sun, for the Lord God will be their light…”

(Revelation 22:5)
